Superbowl!

The plan was to put Giulio to bed around 9 then relax/nap until 11:30 or so and crack open some beers and pull out the snacks for an all night Superbowl viewing session. Well, Giulio had a fever the night before and didn't sleep well, requiring me to get out of bed 5 or 6 times, so this plan was doomed from the start. I put Giulio to bed, had a little dinner and was in bed myself by 10:30 with NO plans to get back out of that bed unless absolutely necessary. Fabri stayed up to watch the game very quietly on the couch all alone. He made it through the first half and say Beyonce perform, but then the power outage hit. Imagine hanging out by yourself at 3:30 am with nothing to watch but a power outage! When Giulio woke up at 5:30, I found Fabri fast asleep on the couch and the Superbowl over, but we didn't know who had won!! We turned off our phones and went to sleep until the baby woke up for good at 9. We got him dressed in his Ravens gear and then went back to the couch as a family to watch the second half. If I had to pick a half of the Superbowl to watch, I think I'd have picked the first, but that safety and then the win at the end, were very exciting!

In honor of the Ravens Superbowl victory, here are some cute photos of Giulio sporting his Ravens gear!

Also, Giulio has been sick all week (the poor dear). He's better now, but he had Sixth Disease, apparently a common childhood illness that I had never heard of. Anyhow, he's back to his ol' self today, which is good, because if Mommy has to stay inside all day again she's going to go CRAZY!!
Look Mom, I'm all better!

10 Months Old!

He's not growing as quickly as he was when he was younger (thankfully), but he's getting so big just the same! The little guy weighs 27.5 pounds and is about 30 inches tall.

He loves his books and the swings. He really wants to be allowed to do as he'd like with the computer and gets very excited when it's time to skype with Grandma & Grandpa or Auntie Laura.

Last night he tried mushrooms for the first time and loved them. Tonight he'll have sweet & sour meatballs with whole wheat pasta. He's a great little eater!

Also, Giulio is looking forward to watching the Ravens kick some butt in the superbowl!! He will be asleep for most of it, but his crazy Mommy & Daddy will be staying up all night to watch live. ;-)

Make sure to look at my Picasa Web Albums for more great photos of Giulio!

Look at that cute kid with the silly hair!

First Christmas

Holidays are even MORE fun when you're sharing traditions with the next generation.  Little Giulio was the center of our attention throughout the holiday season (obviously). We had to keep him a long way from the Menorah candles, but he loved this Happy Hanukkah sign that you rotate to "light" the candles.
Even the most photogenic of us can be caught with eyes closed!

Christmas Eve we had our usual large family dinner with Fabri's family.  Giulio was a star as were his friends Genaro and Stella who came to dinner as well!

Christmas Eve cuddles
Christmas morning we were free to enjoy some of my family traditions including opening presents in our pajamas and eating a yummy Christmas brunch!
Checking the stockings Christmas morning!
Playing with new toys!
First Christmas & first French Toast, what a day!!
Holiday Football - I had to include this photo!
New Year's Eve Fabri worked, so Giulio and I spent a little time with his Nonni, and then came home very early to go to bed.  Then Epiphany we were able to get together with all of the cousins one more time and since Gaetano, Detta and Sofia had been in Caserta for Christmas, that meant MORE PRESENTS!

There are so many more great photos. Make sure to check out my Picasa Web Album!

9 Months Old!

On December 12, during a visit from Grandma & Grandpa, Giulio turned 9 months old.  I thought that since we're staring 10 months straight in the face, I should hurry up and post a 9 month photo!

Vital Stats: Giulio is about 30 inches tall and weighs about 26.5 pounds.  We can tell he's gotten a lot taller because he can reach EVERYTHING and, to make matters worse, he's beginning to climb as well.  He's tried once or twice to stand without holding on to something, but he falls instantly. He cruises all the time passing from furniture piece to furniture piece to get where he wants to go!

We had so much fun with Grandma & Grandpa!

Giulio loves his toothbrush.

the Olney puppy,

and bath time!

Giulio went to a kid's birthday party for the first time back in November.  His cousin Lucrezia turned 6! We thought it was very neat watching him interact with the other kids.

Italian Thanksgiving

Ugh! No time to blog! Giulio is a VERY busy baby!
We're ready to get cooking!

He was very good a couple weeks ago though when we celebrated Thanksgiving. He took a nice long nap through most of lunch so I was able to get all the food on the table before he woke up. What a great kid!
Decanting a 1979 Barberesco for lunch!

Our TWO turkeys came out great and everyone loved everything as far I could tell.  Giulio's favorite? The pumpkin pie hands down!!

8 Months Old!

Ahhh! I haven't blogged in over a month! Well Giulio is another month older and is getting into everything!! He weighs 24.5 pounds and is 2 feet, 5 inches tall. He crawls all around the house, pulls himself up to his feet and cruises on foot while holding onto furniture or someone's hands.

I will have to blog about Auntie Laura's wedding and Giulio's second trip to the US later, but the photos are up on my Picasa Web Albums if you want to see them!
